An Open Forum
Out of Site has bi-weekly meetings that facilitate generative conversations with the collective of artists. At one of these meetings back in Fall 2020 the initial idea for Flow • embody in site was born. In Fall 2021, we were discussing current concerns like climate change and how we as an artist community could respond. Little did we know where we would be today, in the weeks prior to the symposium opening.
It was in one of these generative conversations that the idea of facilitating more open community gatherings as part of Flow was suggested by Marilyn Arsem. The idea to specifically to address these concerns and facilitate a space for greater reflection in how we as artists can respond, create, and build support in our community.
Global Warning is outcome of these brainstorming sessions. We wish to create a space for reflection on public performance practices in relation to the current concerns that seem to be impacting us daily. Please come with a pen and notebook to do some writing as part of this reflective space.
There will be two sequential open forums at the same time each week and we hope people will commit to both.
