post-conflict abandoned architecture in the landscape

i am currently exploring post conflict abandoned architecture in the landscape, the failure of the document to perfromance art and how this is related to the failure of language to experiences of trauma along routes of migration, borders and land/sea interfaces. i propose a performance and poesis (actions and poetics in both text and live performance with writing that explores the spaces beyond language and gestures). This would take place in the landscape at a chosen site where the landscape acts as witness - the document acts as a prosthesis for the making of images in the moment that it cannot capture and writing of it before and after the event is situated in the poetic - here words can interact with each other to evoke a feeling without the need for direct communication.
This would be an affective encountering of residues, fragmented defence mechanisms and traces that are left in the body and land post conflict. An exploration of the embodied defence mechanisms of forgetfulness to reveal the nature of memory through these strategies of affective encountering. The aproach used would be as a 'listening as touch', a touching upon/within/below the surfaces and borders that separate us to connect through empathic resonances. i intend to use performance to create encounters and ‘gestural witnessing’ of the personal, political, and social conflicts that inscribe themselves in our bodies.
